Make something with Annara.

For artists, musicians, makers, speakers, readers and book clubs, and the local creatives who give a neighbourhood its character.

Who we would love to hear from.

Annara is being shaped as a neighbourhood café with room for culture, and that room is only as good as the people who fill it. If you make, play, write or gather people, in Vidyaranyapura or anywhere in Bengaluru, we would love to meet you.

Established or just starting out, solo or as a collective: what matters most is care for the work and warmth towards the people who come to share it.

  • Artists

Painters, illustrators, photographers and printmakers looking for walls where people slow down and really look.

  • Musicians

Players and singers from any tradition who enjoy a small, close room more than a big stage.

  • Makers

Potters, weavers, woodworkers and anyone whose craft is easier to love once you have seen the hands at work.

  • Speakers

People with a story, a skill or an idea worth sharing in plain words with a curious room.

  • Readers and book clubs

Groups looking for a warm table to talk about a book, and anyone hoping to start one.

  • Local creatives

Writers, poets, designers, filmmakers and neighbours with a project that would sit well beside good food.

What to tell us.

A few details help us understand your idea quickly. Short is perfect; you can always add more once we are talking.

A good first message includes

Who you are
Your name, what you do, and whether you are one person, a duo, a collective or a club.
Links to your work
A website, an Instagram page, a portfolio, a recording or a few photographs. Whatever shows your work at its best.
The idea
What you would like to make, show, play or host, and what you hope people will take home from it.
Format and size
A performance, an exhibition, a talk, a reading or a workshop, and roughly how much room and time it might need.
Timing
When you would ideally like it to happen, and how flexible you can be.

Paste your links straight into the message. A few lines and one good link are often all we need to start.

How it works.

Simple, unhurried and honest from the very first message. Every collaboration at Annara follows the same gentle path.

  1. A conversation

It starts with your message and a reply from us. If the idea feels right for Annara, we will set up a proper conversation to hear more about your work and what you have in mind.

No pitch decks and no pressure: just a chance to get to know each other.

Two people's hands looking over printed photographs of abstract textures spread across a wooden table, one pointing to a print
  2. Shaping it together

Then we shape it together: the format, the feel, and how it sits alongside the food and the everyday life of the café. Like a good decoction, it is worth not rushing.

Some ideas come together quickly and others need a little more time. We will always be honest about which is which.

  3. Then we announce it

Once everything is agreed, we share the details here on the website: the date, time, format and access, clearly stated, with your name and work front and centre. Anyone with a question can always ask us on WhatsApp.

Then comes the best part: people gathering around something you made.

What we cannot promise yet

At this early stage we are not able to promise dates, fees or room sizes. Those depend on the finished space and on each idea, and we will be clear about what is possible before anything is agreed.

Tell us about your idea.

Use the form, or message us on WhatsApp if that is easier. Collaboration is already selected for you; just add who you are, a link or two, and the idea you have in mind.

We read every message ourselves. A reply may take a little while as the café comes together, but it will come.

What is it about?

An enquiry is not a reservation or an order. We will reply as soon as we can.

Half an idea is enough to start.

You do not need every detail worked out. Send a few lines and a link, through the form or on WhatsApp, and we will shape the rest together.
